COACH TRAINING - STEP 2
After you have received the base and the cornerstones for coaching we will continue with the tools.

Many seem to be coaching for performance, what we/others want to achieve. According to our point of view that is too late to do. Our performance is ruled by our behavior, and our behavior is controlled by our attitude. This means: My way of thinking. In order to go all the way we need to coach the attitude, and then we have opportunity to influence the person at an early stage and make her/him act and not react.

You cannot coach a person who does not want to be coached. Furthermore, you cannot coach a person who is not able to change. If we wouldn't have to make any changes e have already reached our goal and in that case coaching is unnecessary in the first place, wouldn't you agree? However to coach a person who wants to but lacks the courage to take an additional step ahead, is fantastic and rewarding.

The most important is to have a clear picture of where we are heading. How we will get there is part of the coaching and once in a while we need to check and see what the starting point is, i.e. where are we today? After that we can see the gap, the difference between vision and reality and start the real coaching. That demands that I dare to stand up for what I want, and live by it.
